Smoky Mountains Lions Charities Mobile Vision Lab We operate a vision van to make eyeglasses and conduct monthly vision exams.

Smoky Mountain Lions Charities was formed in 2005 solely for charitable purposes including meeting the needs of disadvantaged individuals. .Donations are tax deductible.

Chattanooga Hope for the Intercity Mission – April 4, 2026
Mission Overview
On Saturday, April 4, 2026, the Smoky Mountain Lions Charities Mobile Vision Lab conducted Mission #178 in Chattanooga at Hope for the Intercity. We provided essential vision care services to members of the community, made possible by the collaborative efforts of dedicated Lions, medical professionals, and volunteers.
Results
• Total individuals receiving vision services: 53
• Complete eye exams given: 52
• Individuals receiving glasses on-site: 0 (We do not take the lab on the road)
• Individuals set to receive glasses (in 4 weeks or sooner): 52
• Individuals not needing glasses: 1
Medical Team and Volunteers
• Medical professionals in attendance: We were privileged to receive the support of an all-Lions team from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. The group included ten students accompanied by Dr. Aaron Mckeever Kerr, OD. In addition, Dr. Marely Coleman Myrick, OD, and Dr. Lauren Goldsmith Windham, OD, assisted in conducting the examinations.

The clinic was a community service project for the Sevier County Lions Club.
