Abuse doesn’t always look the way we expect it to. Sometimes, the person causing harm is the one everyone trusts.

Abusers may carefully build a reputation as kind, helpful, and trustworthy while quietly undermining their victim’s credibility, making them appear unstable or unreasonable to others.

This is one of the most isolating parts of abuse. When everyone believes the abuser’s version of the story, a victim can feel like no one will believe them.

Look beyond the image someone presents to the world. Listen without judgment. Believe that there may be more to the story than you see.

Because sometimes, the person who seems the most believable is the one causing the most harm.

💜 Awareness matters. So does compassion. And sometimes, simply being willing to listen can make all the difference.
