319 Music Fest The 319 Music Fest is a free, family-friendly, outdoor concert When: 11:00am-6:00pm MAY 5, 2012

Why? Where should you park? What should you bring to the event?

The concert is a way to bring the arts to a largely low-income neighborhood, promote a safe summer, and to build relationships between neighbors and in turn strengthen the community . The 319 Music Fest will feature local professional musicians and amateur youth artists, and will have food and other entertainment. Guests are encouraged to park at Pepperwood Plaza and Grant Wood Elementary parking

lots. A shuttle will be available to pick up and drop off from the concert to these parking lots. The Broadway Neighborhood Center will have parking available for volunteers. Handicap parking and musician parking will be available at Wetherby. Please avoid using off-street parking near Wetherby Park. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. It may be a good idea to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and any other weather-related gear. What activities besides music will be there? We will have a Kids Zone which will have a plethora of kids activities to keep the youngsters entertained. Did someone say 'Bouncy House'??? Will food be available? Yes! We will have vendors from places such as Hy-Vee, Hamburg Inn and others to buy food from. Who should we contact for more information? Call 354-7989 or email [email protected]

Who is sponsoring the event? AmeriCorps and Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County are hosting the event. The City of Iowa City has generously pledged money for the 319 Music Fest for 2012 and 2013. With this support, 319 Music Fest will be better than ever! Now and in the past, community businesses, organizations, and individuals have also helped sponsor the 319 Music Fest.
