I would like to share this with my FB family, friends, etc ...
I've been told so many times I'm not a Real Rescue. I don't have a non profit tax number for large donations. Most of you know I make things for sugar glider owners. The little profit from these things go to my rescue.
My heart says if I can help make your glider happy. That's what I need to do. That's worth more than money to me.
OK, this is what I want to share.
Someone, no name is needed, contacted me with questions on how to help her new glider. After getting her home it appeared that the joey was younger than she was told. The glider lunges, crabs, bits and escapes ever chance possible. Since the owner wasn't to far away she brought the glider over.
Y'all my heart is broken. This is a tiny, tiny little girl scared out of her mind. Her mouth is so tiny she only pecks your hand. There's no way this baby has been handled. More than likely she was pulled from her parents and just sold.
I ask to keep her for a little to see how to help her. First I needed to see if she could even eat and No she doesn't eat anything solid. So I blend her food so she can lick it every night. I give her big girl food too.
After a couple of night I'm like OK lets start working on getting to know ea other. OMG! She is so fast. I've had to catch her almost every night. Thank goodness she ends up in the same corner of the room trying to jump up the wall. I can usually catch her when she jumps up. I can tell she's growing. Those teeth are being felt now.
Rip is one of my young neutered males I put in a cage beside her so they can get familiar. He's a sweet boy. She is totally against having any friends. So we continue with our routine hoping she will change her mind. I think that not only would he give her love, he can teacher her things she doesn't know.
Today we had a break through we had a break through. While I was giving Rip mealies, she got into his pouch. He's still interested in what I have but finally adventures over to see what's going on. She's still crabbing but he finally made his way in.
I'm including a couple of pictures. They're not the greatest. It's hard to get pictures of moving targets.
But, back to the start of the story. Why do I need a 501non profit number to be Real? Is that number what makes a rescue Real?
