I was asked to be a guest demonstrator today, where I walked through measuring, cutting, assembling and turning a poplar segmented rim on a mahogany base. Still on the lathe with one light coat of tung oil, the polished wood and open grain remind me why I love working with wood.

A walnut shell, walnut limb and some epoxy resin are crafted into a prototype pendant. A little more polishing along with a hole for leather cord and it will be done. It's amazing what a little yard waste can become.
