Another one delivered for Robin Bond Interiors! If you are thinking of making some improvements to your home, check out Robin Bond Interiors. She and her team do absolutely amazing work.
The most challenging aspect of this piece was the center stretcher, which curves inward on both sides as well as the top & bottom. I finally decided on a series of plywood "plates", each with a different size and edge bevels, conforming to follow the progression of the curves. Over this framework went layers of bendable plywood. Then the center was joined to two columns, called "plinths." Then finally the whole assembly was veneered with oak. The table top is solid oak, grain filled to be smooth and varnished.

A coffee table for my longtime clients and good friends Tom and Janice. They provided me with this Texas ebony and guayacon (WHY-a-con) branch, which grow in south Texas. A deep pour epoxy project taking 1.5 gallons of epoxy tinted honey amber.

13th Annual Vintage in Verdi event coming up! December 5-6.
My 9th year to be included as vendor. If you haven't been, you're missing out! All vendors are in the categories of handmade, vintage, and antique. It's out in the country near Pleasanton, TX. The vibe is very festive with live music all day, Santa Claus for the kids (and snow), children's activities, adult beverages, food and snacks, over 100 vendors, and a lot more! This year I'll have lots of variety with my charcuterie and serving trays, rustic crosses, concealment key racks, live edge toilet paper holders, a lazy Susan, dog food/water dish, cowboy hat rack, wine holders, large candle holders, and a few other things. I just delivered this beautiful burl vanity for Robin Bond Interiors. This piece is part of an upgrade renovation project for a high-rise condo in Austin. This vanity is constructed of alder with Madrone burl, twice bookmatched on the doors. The photos don't do it justice, but the burl has gorgeous figure throughout, with curl and flame adding a 3D depth to the appearance. It sits upon a steel stand made by James Hendricks, which I finished in Vintage Gold enamel. The doors are accented with textured glass and brushed brass pulls.

New Garvinworks item: rustic crosses! Occasionally, when I'm doing one of the few market events I participate in each year, I'll have a lady looking at my products and her significant other will go, "I can make one of those for you..." It makes me chuckle to myself because I think many folks don't realize the work that goes into making the seemingly simple things I sell... because they look simple. So I made a video describing the process involved in making these really "simple" crosses that are for sale this year for $89/tax. They are a large 3 ft. tall and 21-1/2" wide, made from old, reclaimed hardwood lumber. Check out the video! Have a great day!
