The first and most important thing you can do to improve your sleep is to quiet your mind's chatter. It is difficult but not impossible. And journaling before bedtime can help with that.
A journal can be an excellent place to express yourself. Do not think or limit yourself; write whatever is bothering you. Make sure you're doing it on paper rather than staring at and typing into the soul-sucking blue light of an electronic device.
