The sawdust will still be there tomorrow, so today a morning cup of some fancy pants coffee sounds better. Sometimes it’s about taking a mental health break. Over the last several months, I’ve been on a whirlwind journey of mental and physical health repair. I spent a long time in a very dark place, not knowing the true extent of the damage it caused until it finally came to a beautiful end. Last April I was given an amazing gift. One that set me on the right path. Speaking honestly, I shouldn’t be here today to say thank you to all those that carried me along the way. But I am. And I am truly, honestly grateful. I have the best wife (closing in on two decades!), the three greatest children ever, and an incredibly optimistic outlook on my future that I never before thought possible. I’ll share my story in time, but that’s for another day. For now, all I can ask is that we take care of each other. Help those around you that are stumbling, and goddammit ask for help when you need it. We get one shot at this, so don’t waste it in the dark places. Dark places are scary, and life is too short to live in fear. Find your happiness. Today. Don’t wait. It’ll all work out. I promise. Cheers.
