1081 South New Street, West Chester, PA. 💜
To most people, it’s just an address. To me, it’s a lifetime of memories.
It’s where my Gamma and Gampa lived, where I spent so much of my childhood, and ultimately, where South New got its name.
Even today, the smell of groundcover takes me right back to their house. It’s why my original South New logo was surrounded by ivy. A little piece of a place, and two people, who meant so much to me.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are the trips Gamma took me on to Longwood Gardens. Now, at 98 years old, she’s living with dementia, and those memories have become even more precious.
For the past several years, I’ve participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in her honor. While I won’t be able to attend in person this year, I’m continuing to fundraise for a cause that is incredibly personal to me.
I’m also raising funds in loving memory of Gamma’s sister, my Aunt Ann, and Joe, the beloved husband of my friend and coworker Stacey.
Dementia is heartbreaking in so many ways. But one thing I’ve learned is that even as memories change or fade, the love behind them doesn’t.
South New exists because of Gamma and Gampa. Their home, their love, and the memories we made together are woven into this little business in ways you may never have known.
So today, I’m sharing a little piece of my heart and asking for your support. If you’re able to contribute to my Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraiser, any amount would mean so much.
For Gamma, for those we’ve lost, and for the memories that make us who we are. 💜
