This was a cool project I did with Shonn James of Wise Trim and Carpentry. Posting the finished product with some progress pics to show the process. 10”x10” beams, dropped down 3/4” for the led light strips. I’ve been excited to see the finished product and it didn’t disappoint!

So it’s not “custom woodwork” but it’s definitely work! These horns started out looking like they had tree bark on them. After hours of grinding, then many more hours of sanding with every grit from 60 to 600 (and I have 1000, 2000, 3000 & 6000 coming tomorrow) this beautiful Butler Longhorn is starting to look like he was raised in a padded stall and polished daily! I have a newfound respect for all the beautiful pieces like this that you see everywhere. Now I see why they cost $10-$15 per inch. This one is an 80 incher!

I’ve been looking forward to posting this build for a long time! It finally went home with the customer so I guess it’s time! This is my favorite build, so far. It had a lot of customizations from the customer in order to make it more personal for his father-in-law. I currently have to contract out the CNC work but hopefully will be able to do that in house one day!

I’m still having a hard time figuring out prices that don’t scare the customer off but also enable me to make a little profit. I thought I had charged a lot for this piece, but by the time it was all said and done, I had almost exactly that much in it in materials and supplies, not to mention hours. But when I agree on a price, that’s where it stays.

The Queen, Renee Williamson had very specific dimensions of a dresser she wanted. Only took me a couple months of piddling here and there 🤷‍♂️ but here you go! She’ll be painting everything but the oak top and face wrap of the drawers. Pulls still to come.

No job too small! Mother-in-law needed her address displayed. She donates her garage to be my shop so she got the African mahogany!😉

Had a repeat customer request a couple keepsake boxes with names engraved/carved into them. I’m usually a fan of the darker stains but this wood had so much character, I recommend we leave this one a lighter stain. I’m really digging how it’s turning out! That’s a drop in tray at the end of the video that goes inside the box.
