Now that is has been delivered, a 48x24” shadowbox for . Yes it’s fricking huge! I wish I could take credit for the design of the timeline, but that was all Aaron. When I saw it all engraved it clicked and man, what a cool idea. Aaron and me were at Squadron 12 and 4 together at the same time and at SUBSCOL as instructors together. He also rode his first deployment on Alexandria as a rider in 2004. I’m honored to be his friend and to have gotten the opportunity to make his retirement shadowbox. It’s ambrosia maple, supplied by as usual. His stock is always spot on.. I had been saving these boards for something special. Finished with Pure 2C

Latest shadowbox out the door to its recipient. This one was tough. Lost of stuff had to be done in the right sequence to make this work and not fall apart. If you’re looking for a shadowbox for whatever occasion, please DM me, let’s talk.

I was recently given the opportunity to build a shadowbox for a retiree. It was my first shadowbox. The retiree was someone pretty important in my career and as a friend. I first met Bill when he came back into the Navy in the late 90’s. He originally joined in 1985, I was 8. He ended up as COB of USS San Juan and I got to be his SONAR Chief for a few months on USS San Juan due to a medical issue with the original Chief. At the time I had already been a served Chief for almost two years, but alway great to see other leadership styles and other Chief’s Quarters. I learned a ton from Bill and his quarters while I was there for about two months. I further got to interact with with them when I went to Squadron the next year. They continued to be a great Goat Locker. Anyway, Bill retired on the Chief’s birthday Friday April 1st with 26 years of service. Congratulations Bill and enjoy retirement! It was an honor to make this and to serve with you. #1893
