Next Halloween, are you looking for a show-stopping, hand-created, one-of-a-kind costume for your little onel? ALL YOU NEED: Glue gun, flower girl dress or tutu from consignment or thrift store, accessories (ring pop, cheap sunglasses, dress up crown, cat teaser toy for the wand) from the dollar store, and bags, and bags of cheap, colorful candy. Separate by color and begin glueing from the bottom up in the rainbow pattern. Depending on the age of your child, he/she can get involved too. Mine helped separate candy by color and put glue on pieces so I could stick them on after she got tired of burning her little fingers on that part. She also designed her own crown and glasses. TIP: If you run out of candy in a particular color, dip white marshmallows in food coloring to give you additional large pieces that are not so heavy. Be careful about using to many large and dense piece of candy as it can get heavy. This dress weighed about 6 lbs, hence why you only see adornment on the front. The sash has super light candies on both sides so it wouldn't matter how it was tied. TIMING: This was created, off an on over a two week period - a little gluing here and a little glueing there. It was mindless and was a welcomed break to real responsibilities...plus you get t snack a little :-)!. It was a fun bonding activity with my daughter too...we worked as a team and were both very happy with the result. Share if you know someone else who mike want to see this post. Thank you! Keep it Creative!
