I had some requests from friends for my outdoor cushion clean recipes…Save these two cleaning recipes for your white and colored cushions. One cuts through tough oil stains and dyes, the other for mildew, dirt and the occasional Cheeto.
For general stains and mildew:
1/4 cup borax
1 gallon warm water
2-3 tbs Dawn dish soap
- Mix together all three ingredients and scrub on cushions. Hose down with a strong hose setting and allow to air dry in the sun. It could take up to one day with humid weather.
A spot treatment for dye and oil stains
1/3 cup dawn dish soap
16 oz hydrogen peroxide
- Pour a little of the peroxide out to make room for soap. Pour in soap and shake lightly to incorporate. Apply to stain then wash after it sits for 10 mins.
