Our President, Gallagher, reminded us this week how much we rely on trees in this business (and in life), and inspired us to take a moment (or many) to express gratitude for the beautiful beings we craft our cabinetry from. Sometimes a particularly special veneer comes through our shop and surprises us—and this is definitely one of them. We love that this maple tree will live on in the special lives of our client and their family, and that they, too, can be reminded every day of the extraordinary partnership we all share with trees.⁠

Did you know our workshop resides in a historic barn, previously home to the Greenfield Paper Box Company?⁠ ⁠

The Greenfield Paper Box Company, a cornerstone of Greenfield, Massachusetts in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was known for its high-quality paper packaging. Each box was manufactured on coal-powered, belt-driven machines. This local business played a significant role in the community by providing jobs and contributing greatly to the town’s economy from the turn of the century to 2017. Its presence reflects the vibrant industrial spirit of the time, making it a cherished part of Greenfield’s history. Our name, Boxco, is a nod to the legacy of our building and the box makers before us.
