We’ve had a running problem with this side of the sofa… no end table. We couldn’t put a traditional end table beside since that was the walkway into the living room, so we had to come up a small footprint solution.

I had looked at all the “slide under sofa tray” ideas on Pinterest and nothing matched our style that worked in this space. So, we just made one that did.

This was a lot of fun to build as it was designed and built (minus finish) in a single afternoon.

The walnut came from a neighbor who traded a project for lumber a while back. Story is it was sitting in someone grandfathers garage rafters for years.

I love finding solutions to problems that I can build.

Oh. Hello internet. I’ve been away for quite some time, but I’m back.
Built a few things while I was off the ‘gram. Here’s a couple of the things I made.

I could not be prouder. This girl is working crazy hard to cover her cost for a summer program at the college of her dreams (as seen here of her working at Cultivate Coffee) so she is doing some art commissions to raise some of the💰💰.

I think this is my favorite shot of the recipe box. It shows off so much that I love about this project:
- chatoyancy of the wood (3d rippled affect)
- the continuous grain miters
- the cherry burl splines

The nerve racking part of cutting the lid loose is done. Now we spline and work on the liners.
