Vehicle Theft is on the rise, here are some things you might want to remove from your vehicles so you don't become a victim.
1.Any paperwork that shows your home address.
2.Valuables.(Loose Change also)
3.Keys.
4.Garage Remotes.
Some thieves go after vehicles with garage remotes left in them like clipped on your sun visors, they then look in your glove compartment for paperwork with your home address and use the remote to gain entry into your home while you are away.

Be careful for locksmith companies that use bait and switch pricing tactics to gain your business. They will usually quote you over the phone low starting prices for example "$19 and up". When you hire them they will arrive and quote you many times higher for the work you needed done. When it comes to making car keys, Re-Keying Locks or opening houses and cars there is no unknown cost only deceptive people using illegal bait and switch price tactics. Get the total price upfront over the phone or use another locksmith company that will, Remember there are no locksmith companies that use call centers or answering services, this is a tactic so they can act like they don't know what things cost because all they do is answer the phone, don't be lied to. Get Upfront Total Price Quotes Before You Hire Any Locksmith and also Google the companies phone number before hiring being mindful of Fake Reviews or phone numbers that do not show it belongs to a locksmith company, Many of the con men use burner phones and change websites often.

When your vehicle does not start don't be so quick to blame your key for the problem. Modern vehicles with immobilizer systems need a chipped key that is programmed to the vehicle to start them, however when the vehicle is not starting don't rush to point a finger at your key. Keys very rarely loose their programming. Look to see what your security light on the vehicle is doing. Does the light stay on or go out? If the security light goes out when you try and start your vehicle it is not the key or immobilizer system it is something else that should be diagnosed by a qualified mechanic. If you see the security light stay on then there might be one of the following problems. Bad Antenna Ring (this looks for the signal your chipped key is sending out) Blown Fuse (this can happen and it's a simple fix but is often over looked) Loose wiring with a bad connection (Good luck tracking it down) Computer has gone bad (Get a good one) THEN maybe it's the key (some vehicles when you have a dead battery for a long period of time can forget the key programming and then would need the key to be re-introduced). Bad Chip in you key (Like anything electronic the chip in a key can go bad but highly unusual) Please Please Please don't hire a novice shade tree mechanic to trouble shoot your problems at your house. they will hook up a diagnostic code reader to your car and get a code back telling them a generic key not recognized code which could be any one of the above following issues. We get too many calls where a mechanic has told them its a bad key and it is not the case. In most cases it is another security component of the vehicles security system that has failed. And PS for those of you that like to work on your own vehicles. DON'T. I repeat DON'T. we have seen people do hundred sometimes thousands of dollars in damages and repair cost when they think they can bypass the security system. Take your car to a Qualified mechanic that can properly diagnose your vehicles security systems. We recommend a company in Fresno by Herndon and Blackstone called "No Limit" they are great at trouble shooting vehicle issues.

Any paid listing on Google with low starting price quotes are a scam ran by an international group of con men. They have low trip charges between $15-$29 and low starting prices for work, Don't be fooled. The typical price from the $29 plus labor quote for example a vehicle opening would be at least $120 plus the trip charge of $29. It's fine if you don't hire us but please get upfront total pricing before agreeing to anyone to come out or you might regret it. And please share your bait and switch story from the locksmiths you have hired.
