Rob's Rum Bar is "owned and operated" by Robert & Melissa Dodd. Built in 2006 during a complete home remodel and addition, the bar became the focal point of the family room. It's now home to over 50 rums from around the world. The rums are known as the "tenants" because their "residence" is typically temporary. The great thing about rum is that it comes in so many varieties and types. It can be us
ed in such a wide range of drinks or sipped on just by itself and Capt. Rob's rum punch has become a family favorite anytime there is a gathering. There is white, light, dark, fruity, and spiced. There is no discrimination here, all are welcome. Some a young and some are very old, but they all seem to get along. Along with the collection of rums, the bar features many of Rob & Melissa's other collections as well. Bottle opener magnets from Hard Rocks Cafes from all over adorn the front of the fridge. Over head on a custom shelf are around 500 shot glasses that vary in variety from funny to souvenir to beautiful to antique and they represent the first thing Rob & Melissa started collecting when they were married. The room is decorated with photos and reminders of the wonderful family trips taken as a reminder of the great times we've had together. It is also home to Capt. Rob's poker chip collection. The bar also features a poker table, bar games, darts, wide screen TV, and a pool table to add to the entertainment. So why a page? We just wanted a place to share our good times with you. We plan on reporting when new "tenants" arrive and give you our opinion of them. But remember there is a reason why there are so many rums, because everyone has their own taste. Our favorites might not be yours, but there is one out there for everyone. We suggest you stop by for a taste test. We also want to share our experiences at the bar and particularly rum recipes. So give us a "like" and stop by sometime. Life is to be enjoyed and when we aren't visiting one of our other favorite places like the Caribbean, Atlantic City, Key West, or Las Vegas, this is always home. In 2013, we remodeled the bar again. This time with an all beach theme. It features a new lounge area with overstuffed chairs for relaxing. The bar itself took on a new look with bamboo front and "sandy" bar top finish! Welcome to the fish bowl!
