Last month I experienced swelling and pain in my throat that made it difficult to swallow and breathe.
After calling my surgeon, I was referred back to the ENT doctor who had previously evaluated my neck swelling before surgery.
After scheduling the appointment, I texted my family and a few close friends and asked them to pray — specifically asking them to be the kind of friends described in Mark 2… the ones willing to tear a hole in the roof to bring someone to Jesus.
Shortly after, I came across an Instagram post sharing archaeological insight into the home widely believed to be connected to that story.
It was a simple but meaningful reminder that these accounts are not just metaphors… they are rooted in real places and real history.
By that evening, the pain in my throat was gone.
I now know that medically there is nothing wrong. No reason for the swelling, nothing on any scans could be found. I’ve bee on a heavy elimination diet for the past 3 weeks, I’m stretching with more intention and being intentional with my healing.
I am so thankful for a clean medical report. But als thankful the this reminder:
we aren’t meant to walk through difficult moments alone.
Having people willing to carry you when you need it most is a gift.
And if you find yourself in a season where you don’t feel like you have that kind of support, I want you to know you don’t have to navigate it alone.
If you need someone to pray with you or for you, I would truly be honored.
