Did you know???
When you buy local raw honey, you may notice things like tiny particles, cloudiness, a light foam or bubbles on top, or even honey that begins to crystallize. All of this is completely natural.
What you may be seeing:
• Pollen from the flowers bees visited
• Tiny bits of beeswax or propolis from the hive
• Air bubbles and wax particles that rise to the top after bottling
• Natural crystallization, where the honey forms a thicker or grainy texture over time
Most honey found in big box stores looks perfectly clear and stays liquid because it has been heavily filtered and heated to remove pollen and delay crystallization.
Local raw honey is usually minimally filtered (just strained) and not heavily heated, so it keeps more of its natural characteristics.
So if your honey looks cloudy, foamy, or begins to crystallize, there’s no need for concern 🍯 it’s simply honey closer to the way the bees made it. 🐝
