Willowbury Lane Needs Your Help!

As we recently celebrated our first anniversary, we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us along the way. Opening Willowbury Lane has truly been a dream come true, and we are so grateful to be part of the Door County community.

For those who may not know us yet, Willowbury Lane Home Decor is located at Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek, tucked away in Building B.

One thing we hear often from customers is, “We had no idea you were back here!” That tells us there are still many locals and visitors who haven’t discovered us yet.

So we’re asking for your help.

Why choose vintage furniture?

This is the first post in my “about me” series. I decided to share a little bit about what I have in my shop and why.

So I’ll start with all the vintage furniture. I started repairing and refinishing furniture close to ten years ago. We didn’t have a lot of money and needed to refurnish our newly purchased condo here in Door County. I decided to try my hand at some chalk paint. After seeing the results/transformation, I never looked back. I began my hunt for old beat up furniture pieces with lots of character…I quickly learned how the craftsmanship and materials were far superior to anything new that I could buy at the furniture shops…and a fraction of the price. I love adding the look of natural wear and tear to keep the feel of a piece that could tell a story.

You’ll see the shop filled with these finds/finished projects….and of course house is filled with these timeless beauties. I feel that furniture (along with everything in my home) should have meaning and be able to tell a story.
