This has absolutely nothing to do with furniture but it’s something that I’m really proud of and very thankful for that I wanted to share. Before (and during the early days) of Relic I was in a band called Ashes Remain with 4 guys that became essentially brothers to me. We ended up getting a record deal in 2010 and made our first major album in 2011 “What I’ve Become”.

We were very fortunate to have several songs off of the album go to radio which opened the door for touring and allowed us to see essentially the entire country going from town to town playing shows. That, along with people we met and getting to share the positive message of the music was all the “success” we could have ever hoped for.

Years later, somehow/incredibly/whatshappening our songs are continuing to be played purchased and streamed globally and we were notified earlier this year that our song “On my own” was now RIAA Certified Gold and we each got these awesome plaques in the mail today! Thankful.

When meeting our clients I get asked pretty often how I got into woodworking. It’s actually kind of a funny story-
I was walking along in my neighborhood when I came across a coffee table on its side, left out to the elements on my neighbor's porch. Even though I had essentially no woodworking experience, something led me to knock and ask them if I could attempt to restore it as a little project. It had way too much potential to be thrown away.

I built a new top for it, fixed the broken leg, and gave it a fresh coat of paint. I enjoyed it so much that when I was finished I wanted to recreate the entire experience again and decided that I would attempt to build a coffee table from scratch. I found some plans online and my love for woodworking was born.

I began making and selling coffee tables out of the basement of our town home in Baltimore, MD. I learned pretty quickly from my clients just how hard it was for people to find sturdy, solid wood, quality furniture these days.

It actually changed my perspective a bit when I considered the furniture that we had in our own home at the time. I could see how the majority of the furniture that we owned was only ever intended to be temporary, to one day be thrown out and replaced, just like the coffee table that I found.

I came to the realization that when it comes to furniture, like many things in life, it's not that we need "more, more, more". We just simply need "better".

I chose the word "relic" to represent my desire for that mentality. For each table that I made to be one of high quality that would go on to stand the test of time.

Fast forward 7 years, I've been able to hone that vision and perfect my craftsmanship, all while developing an amazing team to work beside.

We exist to provide high quality dining table options that are custom built to be absolutely perfect in our clients spaces.

We love what we do and want nothing more than to make you something that you will walk by every day and absolutely cherish.

One of my all time favorites to leave the shop.

This was an absolute pleasure to make and I hope our client enjoys this for a long long time. You know it went well when you want to keep it for yourself.

This is our interpretation of a printmakers cabinet. Each drawer has the appearance of two small drawers which adds functionality to the piece and a bit of the charm.

Our client came to us looking to have a large table custom built for her family and their beautiful historic home in Annapolis, MD. It’s even more fitting in hindsight that we went with a simple leg design because the space didn’t need any more added character than it already had. What it needed was a one of a kind solid hard wood dining table that will stand the test of time and serve as a place for her family and friends to gather over the years.
