Plato’s View | A Guided “View From Above” Meditation for Perspective & Calm
Sometimes life feels overwhelming simply because we’re standing too close to it.
Plato’s View—often called the “View From Above”—is a perspective exercise rooted in ancient philosophy. In this guided meditation, you’ll gradually step away from the immediate noise of everyday life and imagine rising above yourself, your surroundings, and eventually the Earth itself.
The purpose isn’t to convince yourself that your problems don’t matter. It’s to see them in proportion.
For a few minutes, allow yourself to become an observer. Notice the countless lives unfolding alongside your own. Consider the enormous world around you, the passage of time, and your place within something much larger.
Then return.
The world will be the same.
But perhaps your perspective will be a little different.
Find a comfortable place, close your eyes, breathe slowly, and follow the sound of my voice.
- Headphones recommended
- Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed
If life ever begins to feel too close, too loud, or too overwhelming, come back and take Plato’s View again.
