These eight vintage carved chairs came to me well-loved and worn, and while I don’t know their full history, I knew they deserved to shine again. Each one was thoroughly cleaned, sanded, stained, and sealed — and let me tell you, those carved floral backs took the most time. Every little curve and groove had to be done by hand with patience so the details stayed crisp and didn’t get lost under the stain. (Patience on the detail parts…that is all Joe Kelley 🤣)

It was a big job — eight chairs is no joke — but we love this kind of detailed work.

What truly made it even better? Our returning customer sent me her own after-photos once she reupholstered the seats and set them up in her home. Seeing them finished, in their new space, being loved all over again — that’s why I do this. 💛

✨ Full Circle ✨

This desk has a story — and I’m so honored to be part of it.

It was originally made by the man who once owned the home it now returns to. “My dad bought it nearly 40 years ago, and it’s been with our family ever since. Recently, he sent it back with me so it could return to the very home where it was built.”

The family who now lives there asked if I could refinish it — and graciously gave me the time and space to work on it between a new job, sports chaos, and just… life.

It’s officially restored, and will soon be back where it belongs.

📣 Lucky Thistle Update! 📣

Life has been keeping us busy, so we’re shifting gears at Lucky Thistle for the foreseeable future. Our main focus will be furniture makeovers, painting, and repurposing pieces into something new. We will still do minimal staining—things like tabletops, dresser tops/drawers, and seats—but our main work will be painting and furniture transformations. Joe will continue handling furniture repairs and small builds—within reason!

We just don’t have the time needed for full-scale restorations right now, but maybe someday we’ll get back to it. For now, we’re excited to keep bringing new life to old pieces in creative ways!

Life has been a whirlwind lately! Between my new job, the boys’ busy sports schedules, and everything in between, our days are full to the brim. While our love for bringing your furniture back to life hasn’t changed, we’ve made the decision to take on minimal custom orders right now.

This isn’t goodbye—far from it! We’re simply shifting our focus to family and making sure we can continue to provide the high-quality work you’ve come to trust. Right now, that means being honest about not being able to promise specific timelines. Your projects deserve our full attention, and we want to ensure we give you nothing less.

We’re so grateful for your patience and support as we navigate this busy season. Our goal is to get back into the groove when the time is right, and we’ll be here, ready to bring new life to your pieces.

✨ Just finished this beautiful transformation! ✨

Joe and I had the pleasure of restoring this unique stand for a co-worker. This family heirloom needed some TLC and a new drawer front. Joe skillfully fixed a split drawer by recreating it perfectly and added a brand-new wrap around the bottom for a fresh, sturdy look. We finished it off with a fresh stain color and a flawless topcoat.

Working as a team on this project was incredible as always! We squeezed this project in between our boys’ busy schedules and my studying for my insurance license. Seeing this piece come back to life was so rewarding, and I’m proud of how it turned out. It’s a testament to our love for this craft and making sure each piece gets the attention it deserves. 💪❤️
