Charlottesville House Diaries 🏡

Another little project finished for the Charlottesville house.

These two started out not quite matching, so instead of fighting it, I gave them the same rich, dark, moody finish and brass details.

They’re headed into one of the guest rooms, and this color is definitely setting the tone for the rest of the room.

Sometimes the best design decisions start with a problem. 😉

I bought these thinking I had a matching pair… only to discover they didn’t actually match—and one was much better quality than the other.

So instead of fighting the differences, I gave them something in common: a rich, dark, moody finish with warm brass details. And suddenly, they feel like they were always meant to be together.

These two are headed to Charlottesville, and I have a feeling they’re going to completely make the bedroom.

Some pieces don’t need a complete reinvention—they just need the right color to bring them back to life. 🤎

I found this pair of vintage nightstands for the Charlottesville house and loved the simple lines and open shelving. A rich chocolate brown and woven k***s gave them a warmer, more collected feel—and made them perfect for one of the guest rooms.

Another Charlottesville find checked off the list. And yes, the list is still VERY long. 😂

Some projects completely transform a piece. Others simply let its character shine.

These vintage nightstands didn’t need a dramatic makeover—just a thoughtful refresh to highlight everything that made them worth saving in the first place. I love mixing projects like these into the bigger renovations because they remind me that good design isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes it’s about knowing when to stop.

These are headed to the Charlottesville house, where they’ll be right at home.

Another little piece for the Charlottesville house. 🤎

When I found these nightstands, I knew they had potential—but they definitely weren’t giving California meets Provence. A rich chocolate brown, new woven k***s, and suddenly they feel timeless instead of dated.

It’s funny how a simple makeover can completely change the personality of a piece. One room at a time, this house is slowly becoming exactly what I imagined.
