My husband teases me about how every time I push a bride down the aisle with her Daddy, I tear up. I guess it's because it always reminds me of the special love a Father and daughter share and the emotions that go along with him giving up his baby girl to the man she loves, in the hopes that he will make her happy. I just had this discussion with a bride who is in the early stages of planning her wedding. Picking out the bride's maids dresses can be perplexing. I say, pick a theme for the wedding instead of specific colors, then apply that to your overall look, including what the girls wear. Let the creativity flow!

Remember ladies, your bridesmaids are your best friends (or are supposed to be). Don't make them look bad, be uncomfortable, or take away any chance they have of feeling a bit like themselves at your wedding.

Not bad advice.....

Yet many brides fall into some classic negotiating mistakes when contract time comes. Most first-time brides aren't experienced negotiators and repeat brides who have done this before can go over the top trying to demonstrate knowledge and aggressiveness in negotiating.

I have an October bride who just decided on Navy Blue as the main accent to her wedding. This compelled me to search through some of my photos of past weddings with Blue as part of the theme. I came across these photos from a wedding held at Emma's Bay House, in which I consulted her on linen selection and design. She chose various shades of blue accented by silver. It turned out absolutely beautiful.
