Finally making some more progress on the workbench. Leg assemblies are mostly done with a dry fit. Still have one more tennon to tune up and shape the feet but it's almost time to start building the long stretchers and the top. @ Edmond, Oklahoma

The bench bases are coming along. It's a real pain to pair the shoulders down with no good work holding vise, luckily this will be the last project that it will be an issue. @ Edmond, Oklahoma

One leg is complete with the exception of the tennon but whose counting.. this thing was so much work and I'm thrilled at how it turned out so far. I'm hoping that by next weekend I will have both leg assemblies complete and dry fit. @ Edmond, Oklahoma

It has been quite a while since I've been on here, I got busy trying to finish out a few trunks that may or may not have been many months behind. Luckily I have really awesome and understanding customers. Theese trunks where a lot of work and they are far from perfect but I love how it turned out. The imperfections just let you know that it was built by someone like myself and not some automated process, so embrace them and know that each one was followed by a lot of foul mouthed comments from myself and maybe a few flying objects. @ Edmond, Oklahoma

Shadowbox table is complete and delivered. In not the biggest fan of LEDs but hey it's not for me so theres that. I also realized I'm not the biggest fan of working on a deadline. Overall I'm pleased with the end result and I learned a few things along the way to help for the next project now it's time to drink some beers and celebrate the retirement of a Shipmate. @ Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Fine tuning the fit of the mitered panels before I cut the splines. I have done keys before but never splines, I've got to say I like trying new things but damn I dont want to mess up all this work.

Took some time today to finish up restoring this Stanley #45 combination plane. This is the first antique tool I have purchased and I'm amazed at how well it has stood the test of time. I believe this one was made around 1907 or so and it's missing a few things but all in all it will be a great tool for the shop. @ Edmond, Oklahoma

Since I still have yet to build a proper bench I used some scrap 1/2 inch birch ply and a strip of walnut to make a quick bench hook so I can use my smoothing plane on all the rail pieces to the trunk build. @ Edmond, Oklahoma

Got all of the dados and shaping for the upper side panels done and fitted. I really like the combo of and the gripper when I dado any kind of panel Ifeel like I have all the control I want and the end result is a straight and square dado. @ Edmond, Oklahoma

Got all of the main rail pieces cut and dry fit. It was a pain in the ass since my tablesaw fence didn't have the room to cross cut the long rails so I had to improvise. Another build on the short list will have to be a miter station so I dont have to rig up a vice as a stop block again. @ Edmond, Oklahoma

I think the thing I have made the most progress on with woodworking has to be patience. I wouldn't rush but I also wouldn't think ahead before just going for it and making cuts. Well after 7 tests I got the grooves perfect for the plywood panels and the tennons are all good to go as well. I did find that making the tennons .005 of an inch smaller than the groove is a really nice fit that's not too tight. @ Edmond, Oklahoma

Managed to cut all of the grooves to accept the interior panels as well as the tennons for the rails before I got eaten alive by theese damn bugs. I still have to take a real light pass on the tennons as there just a hair heavy but that will have to wait until tomorrow
