This is my daughter's mustang rescue. Please share🐴🐴🐴
Goodbyes are hard, but at least I know I’ve done everything I can to set that horse up for success.
You know what the hardest part of our work here at Wild Strides is?
Saying no to a horse that needs our help.
This week alone, I’ve had to say no to more than 10 horses after being tagged, texted, and messaged about them on Facebook.
Seeing horses in rough situations — or at risk of ending up somewhere they shouldn’t — and having to look away is hard. That’s not why I started this project.
So why am I saying no?
Right now, we simply do not have the space or funding to responsibly take in more horses.
How can we start saying yes?
We need financial support.
Fundraisers, sponsors, and committed donors allow us to keep helping. It costs about $300 per month per horse to cover basic care.
We need adopters lined up.
When one horse successfully graduates from our program into the right home, it opens a space for the next horse that needs help. A steady revolving door means we can save more lives.
We need volunteers.
There is always work to be done:
* cleaning pens
* filling hay bags
* facility repairs
* general farm help
If you’re willing to help with the less glamorous side of rescue work, we would love to hear from you.
We need business support.
Both of our locations need updates and repairs. If you own or know a business that can help with:
* fence repairs
* shed building
* footing improvements
* electrical work
we could truly use the help.
Wild Strides is a registered 501(c)(3), and all donors will receive a tax-deductible donation receipt.
And if you can’t help in any of those ways, please don’t underestimate how much it helps to:
* share our posts
* like our reels
* comment on our photos
It all makes a difference — and every bit of support helps us say yes to the next horse.
