Hi friends 🧡

Happy Labor Day! Today we're working and I'm taking advantage of my husband being off for the day. I need two things done for new pieces coming that he's brilliant at.

The buffet is complete! I tried posting all day yesterday but it refused to load. Why does tech have to be so wonky? Talk about wonky but the bots are really annoying me and I don't know how to stop them. Any tips?? How do I know a bot from a person?

Anyway...it's LOVELY! I went with Claire's Lantern which is just a beautiful green. Perfect for Fall 🍂 . It wasn't my first choice but everyone in my family voted for it. I'm alway nervous to get each piece just right.

We put on a new hardwood top as the old was just too damaged sadly. The venner was lifting due to years of water damage and then I found old mold underneath. Yuck! New ginkgo styled hardware and subtle drawer liners. This piece is just beautiful!

Good morning 🌧

I have some wonky things going on with this page this weekend. For some reason I've gained a large amount of new followers out of the blue. My guess is they are bots although their pages look legitimate. If not and you are new here WELCOME! I have to figure out what is going on and why my account is being targeted. Any tips would be helpful and appreciated. I've noticed too that some of my typing features seem to be impacted. I can't skip to start a new paragraph without making the post and going back to edit. I really wish I could hire this social media stuff out because its such a pain! Then I would miss out on interacting with all of you.

Anyway, never a dull moment lately, huh? The buffet will be completed this week. Trying to adapt a work schedule to school and sports is challenging. I don't know how parents do it with more than 2 children. Kuddos to you!!

I'm here trying to match old buffet legs to a new hardwood top. 😁 We are getting there but its a process. Not where my vision intended but with these old pieces sometimes you have to just go with it.

I'm picking up a piece today that I think you'll like. Hint...several asked for another last time 😉!!

I am STILL in the demo phase. This buffet needed way more work than I anticipated. The best carpenter put on a new top this weekend because the other had mold. Yuk!! It was dried but I refuse to pass that on to anyone. Sure I could've just painted over it but I wouldn't be able to sleep. I keep praying this piece turns out well. Now to rebuild a serpentine door. What I really mean is for my husband to rebuild it. 🤣

I had to cutest friend visiting me while I worked. I took a hundred pictures to capture the speed. His little mouth is open ready to drink. What a special moment!

Good news is the legs are sanded and they are beautiful!

Not so good news....the top is a mess. 😞 Years of water damage has unfortunately taken its toll. I'm trying to remove the veneer but I think we'll need to replace it. Such a bummer. Its meant to be!

Just one of those days. Lots of dust. Nothing pretty to show you all. Just me sanding, worn down fingernails, fingers that feel numb, but a super cool buffet when its completed!!!!

Sold 🌻

I met the nicest girl yesterday who just loved this piece for her dining room. She loved that its one of a kind. Me too! I think that's ine of the reasons I love doing this so much. Its a ton of work and very dirty. I dont get to have fancy nails and picture perfect clothing, but what is revealed in the end makes my heart so happy. Each piece is unique and to me, a treasure.

The dresser and nightstands arrived lastnight and I am utterly shocked at how good the condition is. If I remember correctly I used Wise Owl One Hour Enamel. Its tough stuff. There are a few knicks and dings here and there and unfortunately I no longer have the paint. I think it was peppercorn which was a favorite back then. I will strip it all back, stain included, with new hardware but all 3 pieces will be gorgeous! I already have a plan 😉 Have a great day!

Good morning!

I refinished this set in 2019. Does anyone remember? I feel like it was 20 years ago. Guess what???!!!

I'm getting it back today! They are being sold and I snagged them. They look to be in great condition. I cant wait to see them and get busy! What should I change? My house has had a million changes since then. 🤣

Good 🌄 morning friends!

We had a weekend of rest and relaxation which we needed. This week kicks off the busiest next 3 months for us. Sports. We have one in volleyball and another in football. Six practices a week will have us running in different directions. It requires us to change work schedules a bit and adapt. I know I'm not the only parent taking a big deep breath. We love watching our children have fun and enjoy their interests. I honestly wish we could turn back time because its all racing by too fast.

Furniture will be hit or miss this week. Our neighborhood garage sale is next weekend and this girl is purging!!

This gorgeous cabinet is here if you're interested. This could be a neat bar, or even a record cabinet. Add some dividers inside and the records would stand up.

What a beauty this turned out to be!

This piece was in decent shape but turned into so much work. I sanded the legs for days, the veneer on the door sanded perfectly, and the top was a pain. It sanded but the stain was the ugliest mess ever. I don't think I've ever in all these years had such a mess. There are 4 different types of wood on this and trying to match them all was too much. Painting the top looked the best. I love how it turned out. Simple and elegant!

Painted in Nom De Plume Gray. Very subtle, a greige'ish hue. New hardware that I love. 42"l x 18.5" deep x 33.5" h. $325
