NFL Veteran Martavis Bryant begins his Redemption Tour with the Washington Commanders
Following an exceptional second workout with the Washington Commanders in the early morning Tuesday, Unrestricted Free Agent and 5-year NFL Veteran signs to showcase what the NFL missed in his swag as a former starting wide receiver.
(Los Angeles, CA | August 2024) Today the Washington Commanders fulfilled one of their greatest needs in acquiring a big body wide receiver at 6’4” - 215 lbs. to compliment the most probable starting quarterback in rookie Jayden Daniels, the first-round draft pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Martavis Bryant has played with top quarterbacks in the NFL such as Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers), Derek Carr (Las Vegas Raiders), Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys), and now Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders. The Calhoun Falls, South Carolina native and TL Hanna High School Alum is once again in his Dream Job.
Martavis entered the NFL via 2014 NFL Draft as a 4th round selection at pick 118 overall out of Clemson University where he recorded 61 receptions for 1,354 yards and 13 touchdowns along with a 17-yard carry and 291 yards on 14 kickoff returns in 1,020 snaps over 37 games (13 starts) in his career ... finished his career ranked first in school history in yards per reception (22.2) and tied for 10th in receiving touchdowns. As a starting wide receiver with the Pittsburgh Steelers where he began his career setting an NFL record for most touchdowns (5) in his first three games as a rookie. .
Then continued to set another NFL record scoring his sixth touchdown in his first four games. Finishing his rookie year ranked first among all NFL wide receivers with a 21.1 yards per reception. His current NFL career statistics are 145 receptions on 2,183 with 17 touchdowns in the regular seasons and 21 receptions on 322 yards with 3 touchdowns in the postseason.
