Everyone thinks the hardest part of a DIY project is the actual doing — the sanding, the painting, the part that shows up in the reel.

It’s not.

It’s realizing your subfloor isn’t level after you’ve already started. It’s the fourth trip to the hardware store for one $3 part. It’s living without a kitchen for six weeks and finding dust somewhere new every single day.

wait before you pick paint color, do this one thing first 🧭

grab your compass app and stand at your biggest window — your room’s light direction changes EVERYTHING. the same swatch can look creamy in one room and muddy in the next.

north = warm it up. south = cool it down. east = hold up warm AM/cool PM. west = won’t overheat at golden hour. no light? there’s a color for that too. all-sides windows? that too.
