This table was two years in the making. Cessilye R. Smith is a good friend who was starting to dream about a “forever table” (for her gorgeous home) where her growing family could all have a place and still have room for friends. We talked design, we talked budget, we worked together to get her exactly what she wanted. I worked on this table in 3 different shops and through the infancy of my business. I’m so grateful that Cessilye gave me the chance to tackle this dream with her and for her patience. With the shop opening I am looking forward to many more projects like this with a lot less waiting!

Lots of people have been asking about the shop. “Is the shop still a thing?” Is the main one I get. It’s totally my bad for not provide more updates and I wanted to get you up to speed here. The shop is definitely still a thing. We have it completely gutted and have been waiting on final specifications from an engineer and architect to start building out the space! It’ll be called “The Forest Studio” as it’s in the Forest district of South Dallas. I’ll recruit some other small artisan businesses to share some of it in an effort to create artisan jobs in South Dallas( is one of the businesses already committed to the project). If all goes will it should be opening up in early 2023. In the meantime I’m be been using the space for storage and steel work. Message me or leave a comment to learn more about the project!

This piece goes with a word. The word is Thoughtful. One of my favorite parts of furniture design and woodworking is finding that perfect amount of thought to put into a piece and the process of creating it. Too much thought makes for a stressful build and a convoluted design, too little makes for pieces that will be liked but not loved. Found the perfect medium on this one imo.
Thanks and for the opportunity!

Went through a whole bunch of to find the perfect pieces for this guy (so i have leftovers if you need a white oak piece). The new owners were so happy with the finish and it made my day!

This was made using pinned mortise and tenon joinery. That’s code for “it’ll never ever fall apart”. Very happy with how it turned out. On to the next one!

P.S please save me 1,000,000 hours and give me a domino!

One of those rare projects done for home. I really like the little guy!
