Hello chess friends! Ive enjoyed getting to meet several of you over the years at the Libraries or restaurants we've had our meetups. My family has recently moved to Georgia so if anyone out there would be interested in taking over the page and reinvigorating Rook & Roll, please let me know.

Good Morning, folks! I (Vince) will be out of town this coming Monday but I spoke with a couple Rook & Rollers last week who were still planning to come. We already have two planning to bring boards, but bring an extra if you have an easy travel board. Y’all have fun and I’ll see you the following week!

Hello all! I’ve gotten quite a few messages over the course of this year from folks wanting me to revive Rook & Roll. I read them all, rarely responding... But, it all came together for me when my 7 year old son told me he wanted to start a Chess Club a couple weeks ago.

Soooo, with that said, with the start of the new year we will begin meeting on Mondays from 4-6pm at The Diner in Gulf Shores, across from Big Beach Brewing Company.

We invite children new to the game or old masters who want to share their wisdom. Drinks and Snacks will be provided. We also have plenty of Chess Boards, just come ready to enjoy yourself and meet new people. The only thing we want you worrying about bringing is a friend to teach chess the next week!
