As the saying goes, “If you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life”. Today I got to honor a great friend who does what he loves, fishing and helping others. I was able to honor him through something I love doing, woodworking! This kayak cart/table offers great versatility, easy lily loading and unloading the kayak into the truck, bottom shelf storage for the kayak/tools, clean fish, or it can even be used during his famous fish fry’s to advertise his non-profit.

Went with a rustic/worn white approach for the base. I did a light stain for the top, then I finished the top with epoxy. Just have to wait for the epoxy to cure so I can mount it to the base. Time to start looking for a home for it!

I built these hall tree benches last spring and I’ve been wanting to give them a more updated, cleaner look. So this weekend I redid the backing and sides, raised it a full foot and framed it up. I’m really happy with how it turned out!

This fall I made a wheelchair accessible tic-tac-toe/game table for our residents at work. It’s the little things that we sometimes take for granted that mean everything to someone when you can no longer do them with ease. Like comfortably sitting at a table when in a large wheelchair.
