Memorial Day. A time for reflection

There isn’t a day that goes by that someone at Echoes isn’t discussing the military. Not just because we are actively engaged in the military exchanges as retail customers but also because we have family, children and spouses, who are military members. It’s a difficult choice but one that we support and love.

Today is a time to remember our fallen military heroes. If you have a hard time getting into the mood, I recommend you step onto the grounds at Arlington National Cemetery and observe. On a clear day, the perfectly symmetrically aligned crosses will overwhelm your peripheral vision. If the dictionary could use a vision instead of words, this would be the definition of sacrifice. With over 600 acres, over 300,000 graves and more than 28 funerals a day, you cannot help but be humbled.

We’ve loved and lost close friends, some of whom are buried in Arlington. We’ve held hands, shared tears, and continued to reach out and touch those who are still living with their loss. For those that we have loved and lost, we honor you. For those who have loved and lost, we remember you.
