WoodPROacademy.com was created out of necessity. I started my consulting business in 2005 and as a business owner I am always looking for experienced draftsmen & estimators ... problem is that it’s really hard to find good people. I’ve hired four year degrees - two year degrees - trade certificates and even highly experienced draftsman. I was always disappointed & frustrated for a couple of reason

s. First no one had experience with commercial casework or millwork. Second … no one understood the big picture … they had education but no practical knowledge. When I did find someone with direct industry experience the often had bad work habits because of a lack of real training. All of this led me to the idea that if I could flip the whole process … it would work a lot better. I started filming the way I worked and started putting together training programs based on what I really needed. So now I can take someone off a shop floor, provide them with software training and get to a point of quality, efficiency & profitability a lot faster than the old way. I believe it works so well because for experienced woodworkers because we think alike and we speak the same vocabulary. I am convinced now more than ever - that a cabinet makers with the right training will always do better take-offs & and can end up becoming the best draftsmen. On the other hand if already have experience either through formal training or what I call trial & error training I can fast track your workflow , show you how to put it all together and teach you how to work more efficiently.
