TAMU-SPE is excited to announce the SPE Student Connect Conference being held on Monday, February 8th.

This event will consist of a discussion panel featuring Dr. Thomas Blasingame (current SPE International President) and SPE Young Professionals followed by a breakout room session for students and panelists to network.

Timeline:
6:00 - 6:30 PM CST - Introduction
6:30 - 7:30 PM CST - Discussion panel and Q&A session
7:30 PM CST - Breakout room networking session begins
8:30 PM CST - Conference conclusion

Howdy! TAMU-SPE is looking for participants to join an intercontinental competition between the Colorado School of Mines (CSM-SPE), University of Texas (TU-SPE), and 3 SPE student chapters from India (IIT Madras, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), and IIT (ISM)).

Participants will submit an abstract first. If the abstract is selected to move on to the next round, then the student will pre-record and submit a presentation. Next, a live, virtual 5-minute question session will be held for each presenter. Finally, based on the abstract, presentation, and question session, the top 3 winners in the undergrad and graduate categories will be determined and awarded with a certificate and a cash prize.

HOWDY! TAMU-SPE is currently looking for sponsorship for the 2021 Sporting Clays Tournament! This event will involve the pairing of three industry representatives with two Texas A&M students to create five individuals per shooting team. Each team will go through the shooting course at Tonkaway Ranch and get the opportunity to network/socialize with their team! TEAMS ARE LIMITED, SO SIGN UP NOW! Prizes will be awarded to the best shooters and lunch is provided at the end of the tournament.

TAMU-SPE is excited to announce the 28th Annual Doug Von Gonten (DVG) Memorial Golf Tournament being held on Monday, October 19, 2020. The tournament will take place at the Traditions Golf Club in College Station, TX.

Since its inception in 1993, the DVG Memorial Scholarship has contributed to annual scholarships, first-class networking experiences, and the highest quality education for petroleum engineering students at Texas A&M University, as well as honoring a truly outstanding leader in Petroleum Engineering education, Dr. Doug Von Gonten.
