Officially launched in the Spring of 2011 by Matt Hogan, Reliquary Studio produces beautifully hand crafted and purposefully designed objects and environments. Prior to the launch of Reliquary Studio, Matt spent 10 years building cu

stom furniture on a freelance basis while maintaining full time fabrication and fabrication management positions at a variety of companies. Most notably among those were with MADE LLC (where fabrication projects led by Matt were featured in publications such as Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Interior Design Magazine, New York Magazine, and Design Solutions Magazine and were awarded the Architectural Woodworking Institute's Award of Excellence) and Dakota Jackson Inc (where Matt led the design, engineering, and fabrication of all custom residential casegoods). In the continuing effort to further the sustainability of our fabrication processes, the shop was relocated in the summer of 2015 from Brooklyn's Industry City to a solar powered farm in New York's Hudson River Valley. In addition to being powered entirely through solar production, Reliquary Studio byproducts also provide valuable bedding and compost for local area farmers as well as providing heat for the shop through the winter. Fifteen years ago, where it all began… Reliquary Studio started out with me working nights and weekends in a shared shop space in Sunset Park, Bklyn, keeping projects components and tools packed under a pallet rack next to the freight elevator. Those first project parts belonged to none other than our Bushwick neighbors and friends building out what would become a neighborhood anchor, Cafe Ghia. That’s what it’s all about: neighborhood, community, friendship; listening to the needs of those around us (friends, clients, neighbors, strangers…) and working together to provide those needs and achieve our common goals. Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with us so far, I look forward to the new relationships we will get to develop in the future, and remember that together we can make anything possible.
