What do ants and Jesus have in common?

THEY CAN BOTH WALK ON WATER!

Ants can survive rain due to their ability to hold their breath for a very long time, their nests being located in high, dry areas, and by waterproofing the walls of their nests. Here are some ways ants survive rain:
Ants enter the hollow thorn and stay dry.
Some ants build their nests in trees or on high ground.
Some ants build special waterproof chambers inside their nests.
Ants can close their spiracles (breathing holes), which helps them avoid drowning.
Some ants also have the ability to make rafts.
Ants can trap air in various chambers throughout the nest, and entrances to chambers come from below, preventing water from coming in.
Ants are too light to break the surface tension and can walk on water.

ROACHES are coming!

They love to live in humid places and why you’ll often find them under the kitchen sink or in the bathroom. American roaches, especially, love damp locations, like sewers and gutters. Indoors, Oriental roaches often get caught in bathtubs and toilet bowls.

Just something to think about while we get this wonderful rain we need so bad! But next week we are looking at 70-degree temperatures don't be surprised when we start seeing them a little sooner than usual. Give us a call lets nip it before it becomes a problem.

Two more fun facts about spiders

The female black widow’s bite is the only one that is deadly to people; the male is considerably smaller than the female, and males and juveniles are completely safe to humans. The female has a red hourglass form on her underside, while the male’s abdomen has yellow and red bands and dots.
Next time you see one pick it up see if it is male or female so you know if you need to stay away from it! JUST KIDDING don't do that!

Female black widows are the only ones who spin webs and catch victims. Males do not eat as adults and instead focus all of their energy on mating. After mating, a female black widow may devour the male. BRUTAL! You men will never learn! Ha ha ha ha !

FUN FACT ABOUT SPIDERS

Spiders are arachnids, not insects. Unlike other insects, spiders do not clean themselves by using their mouthparts to groom themselves. Instead, spiders can crawl through pesticides all day long and not die because they do not ingest the pesticide after cleaning themselves.
When we spray it kills them. They are a contact kill. But if they aren't out waving hi to us when we spray and they are hiding, they won't die. We do our best to get rid of what we can, promise!
