And 1 more from Doug Landman - Pelican RHaGB r1 is tighter shot, but still fairly wide field. Mount and Scope are the same, but the Camera is an SBIG ST-8300 which has a smaller imaging sensor than the STXL and fewer pixels. Almost 15 hours of exposure thru HaRGB filters and again processed with PixInsight.

Also from Doug Landman - North_American nebula is also a wide field shot which would be best display rotated 90 degrees clockwise. Scope is a Takahashi FSQ with an aperature of 106mm and a focal length of 530mm at f/5. Camera is an SBIG STXL 11000. 12 hours of exposure thru HaRGB files and processed with PixInsight. Look for the bill of the Pelican poking into the photo.

From Doug Landman - M8&M20 obviously is a wide field shot with both nebulae in view and showing much Hydrogen alpha gas between and around. Mount is Paramount MX which is common to all 3 photos, Scope is an ASA 10N Newtonian astrograph, Camera is an SBIG STXL 11000 which is an 11 mega pixel 24x36mm monochrome astro imaging camera. Almost 20 hours of exposure thru HaRGB filters and processed with PixInsight.

John Talbot says, "Earlier this month I was able to attend the Chiefland Star Party in Chiefland FL. The weather was great the last three nights and I was able to shoot several images. This one is of the area around the Cave Nebula in the Constellation Cepheus. I used the Stellarvue SVS 130 f5 refractor and STL 11K camera."

I'm back from the Chiefland star party, and about a week behind on everything else now. I thought a blog on the event was in order while the week was still fresh in my mind and before I bury myself in code slinging and debugging. I've been to...

In solidarity with and in support of the Chiefland Astronomy Group, the CSPG observing field will only be open to those who have registered for the Chiefland Star Party (November 8-14, 2015) being held on the Billy Dodd Memorial Field. As fellow astronomers (specifically Chiefland astronomers), I feel it is important and appropriate that we do all that we can to continue to promote the hobby of astronomy in Chiefland for many years to come. Registration and support are not a very big price to pay to support our sister club. Register at:
http://www.chieflandstarparty.com/www.chieflandstarparty.com/CSP_REGISTRATION.html
Their Star Party management team has been in close contact with me & we have made an agreement for them to allow campers to set up on the CSPG field without people owing additional camping fees to us to stay on it. (To clarify, all monies will be charged by and owed to Chiefland Astronomy Group) I encourage all CSPG members to show support for, register for, have fun at and support vendors & speakers at the upcoming 2015 Chiefland Star Party.

Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation and support. Please feel free to stop in and say hello.

We at CSPG want to wish the Chiefland Astronomy Group every success with the Chiefland Star Party, as we know it will be awesome.
