We are set to have our first quiz of the season this Saturday at Bible World Church. Registration will commence at 9:30am with quizzing to follow.

Intermediate coverage is through Acts 3:26 (99 verses).

Experienced coverage is through Acts 4:37 (130 verses).

If you are planning to bring a team please let me know by Thursday, Jan 11.

THIS IS WHAT BIBLE QUIZZING IS. Coming together to worship in one accord through our sacrifice, commitment, and love for God and His Word. Bible Quizzing is more than a competition. Sure, it’s fun to interrupt and hear, “that is correct” from the quizmaster, but Bible Quizzing is more. It’s the Word of God in the home everyday. Instilling value and love for Truth in our young people to be disciples for Christ TOGETHER.

So Bible Quizzer, remember, Bible Quizzing is more than a game. It’s a higher calling for a higher purpose. Together, we can and will impact our world. You got this. 🫶♥️

We had a successful kickoff tournament last week with 8 SBQ teams in total. I’d like to thank Pastor & Sister Robert Kimberly Hermes Thorp for helping ease me into the VA District coordinator position as well as for helping me quizmaster our 1st tournament of the year. What a blessing they have been! Thank you Pastor Cunningham & Bible World for hosting. Thank you to my wife, Alexis Curtin, for being my biggest supporter and helping me remember everything the Thorps taught me. Thank you to my Brother, James Sawyer, for helping with AV support throughout all the sessions as well as for video recording the intermediate session! Thank you to my Sister-in-law, Elysa Sawyer, for the graphic design and printing work. Also, thank you to all the Bible World coaches, parents, quizzers and staff who were behind-the-scenes but helped make the day a success. You all are awesome!

Thank you to VDYM for the privilege and honor of serving as the Sr Bible Quiz coordinator for the district and the amazing opportunity to enjoy fallcon as we enter this new season in our lives.

Congratulations to Kenneth and Lexi Curtin as they answer the call to serve the youth of Virginia as the new Sr Quiz coordinator!!

Quizzing will always be a passion for us and we will continue to pray that His Word in the minds of our youth will flow into their hearts, developing them into the amazing Christian’s and ministries to which He has called them.

We love each and every one of you and thank God for the opportunity to serve Him by serving you.

BQTournament 2022 scorekeeping and tournament software version 6.3 is available for download. This Windows software is for the 2022 quiz season and contains wisdom/Proverbs verses for all divisions.

By now many of you know that I announced at district finals that I had tendered my resignation as the VA district Bible quizzing coordinator. This was an extremely difficult decision as I am and will continue to be committed to the ministry of planting God’s Word into the minds, hearts, and character of our young people.

I spoke to my pastor three years ago and felt I should wait. No one knew at that time that we would be challenged by COVID to keep Bible quizzing alive and well. But God knew and we were obedient.

Everyone worked hard to keep the season open for the first year and then faced the challenges of rebuilding during the next two years. By the beginning of this year I was confident that we had reached the place where quizzing was once again strong and growing in our district.

So with the permission of my pastor, I have “retired” from quizzing and am looking forward to whatever God has for us during this new season of our lives.

Pray for us as transitions are never easy and many mixed emotions play a part but we believe this is His plan for our lives and for Sr Bible quizzing in VA. The district board will appoint the next coordinator and I have faith in God and in them that the new coordinator will be the perfect choice for this season.

God bless you all! It has been a pleasure and an honor. Continue to use quizzing and the planting of His Word as amazing tools to build Christian character into your child.
