We are Scott, Melissa, Elliott, Briggs, Kennedy and dog Maddox and on March 13th, 2015 we made the decision to take our family on an epic adventure. What kind of vehicle would we choose? Where will we go? WHEN would we embark on this grand journey? For the next several months we began to dive into this whole new world and discover the possibilities. You may be asking yourselves why we've made the
decision to take our life on the road considering we are just starting our family? So many people work to have a good life, enjoy time with family, travel, and save for the future. While we want all of that also we've realized that we want to take back our lives and go and explore and see what all is out there. There is so much to see and do and we don't want to just dream about it we want to do it! We thought long and hard and realized that for us there was a way and that we wouldn't have to wait until retirement to do it. Our life now/today will be what we make it.....an adventure. The more we researched and educated ourselves we realized that many people have paved the way for this to be a smooth adventure for us. We have become members of Escapees RV Club which has been super helpful with a lot of the logistical things such as establishing a domicile, receiving a permanent address, as well as mail forwarding. Scott spent countless hours searching for the best recreational vehicle and after several months we purchased a Keystone Cougar SRX320 which is being towed behind a Ford F-350 with a 7.3 engine. The camper has a master bedroom, full bath, galley / living area, as well as a spacious room in the rear that had two bunk beds which we converted into our daughters room. During our planning we found out we were expecting our 2nd child (Briggs). We were ecstatic to be growing our family, but it definitely made us think twice about our adventure. It didn't take long for us to realize that while this did throw a whole new twist in our plan we didn't want it to stop us from following our dream. We were scheduled to be in Texas in January for Melissa's conference and delivered our healthy baby boy Briggs mason Webb (pictured)- March 4th, 2016. We settled in as Camp Hosts at McKinney Roughs Nature Preserve for a few months as we adjusted to the changes in our growing family. In July, we departed Texas heading North-bound with no set agenda other than stopping at as many Natural Parks as possible on our way to the Pacific Northwest. We explored the beauty of Washington State from Labor Day weekend 2016 until we fell in love with the Flathead Valley in Northwestern Montana in 2020.
