Art you can walk through! 🌿✨

I was able to express my creative language on this project and am forever grateful. Another one of those “do your thing” pieces where I can fully dive in and The Ledbetter’s now have a unique set of doors for their primary bedroom that creates a statement around an organic feel & vibe. And no you’re not trippin’, these “barn doors” have fully concealed hardware that open and close like your more traditional style doors without the extra noise. The carved design was inspired by Spaniard style architecture and the flow of that booming culture 🔥

…TRANQUILITY…

My woodworking experience has provided an outlet for me to lose myself in the craft and in return, a sense of therapeutical freedom I am gifted with. It’s unexplainable. That said, I am in a current space where my process is asking for some slight changes. Some of my initial mediums are wanting to resurface…some pivoting is cultivating…change is and will be the inevitable. A step in MY DIRECTION has always been the plan. More artsy s**t is to come! 🫶🏽

Just when you think you’ve done some cool s**t in life, a good friend, fellow creative, collaborator, and mentor casually goes and puts my work in her globally published book.

Seeing my name in the credits was wildly humbling for many reasons and only found it by flipping one to many pages over to find the credits section. Ummm…yea. That’s a good feeling!

I’ve said it many times over but I’m truly glad we’ve connected and I’m genuinely proud of you, Natalie. Thanks for the unexpected shoutout—it’s a bucket list item I didn’t know I had 🫶🏽 “Start With the Art” - by Natalie Papier

Do you know your purpose? Do this, if you could describe it with one WORD or EMOJI, which is it? SHARE it with me I legit want to know as this isn’t about increasing engagement lol

Mine = Impact ⚒️

They say what you do in life echoes an eternity. I firmly believe that! In some way shape or form the seeds you spread while you’re here will hopefully keep contributing even if only minimally. You may impact someone ever so slightly to change the course of their lives and that individual may pay it forward and so on and so forth. Perhaps it’s art that you leave behind that inspires future generations. My point is, be a good human in this world full of noise, judgement and chaos! Try to be one at least. F**k what the next person sees in you and worry about what YOU see in YOU! Lock in!

DELIVERED…a simple and timeless approach was the goal. Not too loud, not too safe. A balance of subtle, unique and standout. Using black walnut and no screws whatsoever, this coffee table will settle in beautiful Southend here in the Queen City of Charlotte ✌🏽

…2016…

I’ll keep it short, it’s the year I bought a super cheap sander/drill combo alongside a small torch and went to town on a stack of live edge rounds to make tables out of and sell. I remember every one who bought one… Klunk, T.Brown and Ricky, I appreciate the belief. You may not realize it but you prompted me to write down a business name/logo and the rest has been a journey unlike any other. 120 months of pure GROWTH working with a medium I never saw coming or even for me if I’m completely honest. Looking forward to the next 120 🔥

…pulling up with something FOREIGN…

A coffee table build that I was able to be myself with. A creators dream is when a client tells you to “do you”. I’m appreciative of those opportunities and the many others I’ve been granted. Happy Friday! 🖤

I’m eternally grateful for 2024! Growth, mindfulness, acceptance, patience, trust among other important gains that were welcomed in my 40th year alive. 2025 will be nothing short of a beauty with plans and determination already having jumped over calendar years and into focus. Let’s fu***ng go! 🫶🏽

A year ago today, I arrived at work and over our morning cup of coffee, I sparked up a convo about the chaotic Woodstock 99’ music festival with my crew. We played Limp Bizkit “Break Stuff” shortly after and all involved in the convo had the lyrics “It’s just one of them days…” stuck in our heads. Approximately one hour later, this was my Ladder 16 truck next to one unparalleled hellacious circumstance that has changed my life forever. I thought I was the only one that thought about this every single day until I recently heard an interview on where my peers admitted to the same. This…was definitely “one of them days!”

My detailed experiences I only share with those closest to me because it’s not easy to talk about and by no means seek anything from any of you by posting this (please do not say the word hero). I simply want to express a huge thank you to all who keep me in the workshop creating meaningful pieces for you as this art form is to me the most therapeutic relief I can experience, next to spending time with my loved ones of course. I am TRULY grateful!

RIP to the two hardworking men that lost their lives on this day, Demonte Sherrill and Reuben Holmes.
