This client reached out needing to replace their pull-out cutting boards. 2 of them were made with plywood, if you can believe it! Since becoming a dad I haven’t taken on much client work but I knew this was a project I could complete over a few weekends. I got lumber long enough to be able to do one large glue-up to cut all 3 boards out of and I had enough scrap to be able to surprise the client with a compact end-grain cutting board (an everyday use in our kitchen). In the end I was super pleased with how these turned out and so was the client. Special thanks to Cedar Rapids Lumber & Woodworking Services for the extra long 5/4 hard maple!
