This was easily the biggest upgrade we’ve made to our house. We probably should’ve refinished the floors before moving in, but instead we tackled it with an infant, two fur babies, and a house full of furniture.
The prospect of taking this project on gave me so much stress we even considered covering everything with LVP. I’m SO glad we didn’t.
After months of research, we finally committed. Moved everything out of the main level, rented sanders, and got to work. It took twice as long as expected, but the end result made every second worth it.
Huge thank you to everyone who helped with labor, hospitality, baby and dog sitting, and emotional support. And the biggest thank you to my wife for believing in me and pushing us to make this happen.

Being a full time dad means I can’t spend as much time in the shop as I used to. But I was still able to put in 1 day a week at TCR to build these set pieces. They sure do look a lot better once the painters get to them. If you don’t already have your tickets to Frozen then what are you waiting for?!? This one is a truly magical production.

The saga of the derecho walnut has come to an end with these charcuterie boards and butcher block. My client had several walnut trees come down in the 2020 derecho and asked me to make some tables out of the wood. There was A LOT of wood. You’ve probably already seen the tables that were made, but there was also a lot of beautiful live edge lumber that they decided turn into charcuterie boards. And then to finish it all off I had enough scrap left to make this incredible 20x20 butcher block. The landscape of our town was completely ravaged by the 2020 derecho, but I’m thankful that out of that destruction, we’re able to create beauty.

I’ve made some pretty unique things for .h2o and this one was no exception. Go check out their all new lighting showroom! I made this “fence” to show off their outdoor lighting collection. It consists of 6 pieces hung on the wall with French cleats so it can easily be taken down to change out the fixtures.

Over a year in the making! She’s finally in her forever home! My client reached out to me about making some tables out of some black walnut they had harvested from trees on their property that came down in the derecho. Both tables had very specific needs in terms of form and function. And this table particularly had many specific things to consider in the design. After many design iterations and a TON of trial and error we finally landed on a design that would function the way they wanted AND was incredibly unique. This job challenged me the most in all the best ways. I’m a better craftsman and designer because of it. I have to give a huge thank you to these clients for trusting me with this project and for their incredible patience as we worked together to make it perfect. I also have to thank for all their help along the way. Now on to the next one!

Over a year in the making! She’s finally in her forever home!
