Being in this industry for 25ish years has taught me to not get too high and not get too low. As soon as you think you got it, well you will be humbled in a hurry. But every so often a project or in this case a potential project comes along (out of the blue, mind you) that gets me really excited to see come to fruition and ultimately completion. And this is coming from a person who has made a career of taking projects that are uncommon, intricate, difficult or “interesting”. Keep an eye 👁️ out over the next couple years for this project. I promise it will be worth the watch. Or not, that’s just this business…. 😏

So as often the most interesting projects do start with “sooo, we have an idea….”. This one did not disappoint. The is undergoing a MAJOR remodel that includes many, if not all new displays. Our friends at the were offered these LARGE glass panels with a young Herbert Hoover image and a senior Herbert Hoover image. Here’s the catch: They had to move them by next Monday. These panels measure in at 5.7’ wide x8.00’ tall x .75”thick. Do the math for tempered glass and you land right about 450 lbs each. Never mind they are about 3 feet off the floor, down 300’ of hallway with bumps and turns, about 18 miles away from its destination at the CCHS museum and they gotta get put into the building through two doorways with tight height clearances, need to stay mobile until they can be hung in the new HOOVER Room, and oh yeah packaged to be protected as they are one of a kind. Welp, challenge accepted. Plans were made, glass racks were built and a willing crew was entertained for the day. Happy to report the panels made it safely to storage after all of that. Stay tuned for more work upcoming at the Cedar County Historical Society grounds. We have a special one coming up next.😁🤣

Well, it was recently brought to my attention that I did not share any completion photos of the house we built last year. Here you go. This is a modern two story “farmhouse”. Never mind the toys…. the baby was eager to move in with all that open space!
