It’s Friday.

Jesus is in custody.

Judas is ridden with guilt. He returns the silver, his betrayal payment, repents and hangs himself.

Religious leaders deliver Jesus to Pilot, the governor. Each Passover, Pilot releases one prisoner to the crowd. Barabbas, a prisoner guilty of theft, insurrection and murder, is brought in.

Pilot asks Jesus - are you the king of the Jews? Jesus confirms.

Pilot asks the crowd who to release. Barabbas.

He asks what he should do with Jesus, they shout - Crucify him. Crucify him.

Jesus is delivered to the soldiers. They place a crown of thorns on his head. They mock him, beat him, strip him of his clothes.

They head for Golgotha. Jesus bears the burden of carrying his own cross. He is too weak. Simon, a passerby, takes the cross and carries it on Jesus’ behalf.

Jesus, spotless and innocent, is hung on the cross. A nail in each hand and a nail in his feet. A sign is placed above his head reading - King of the Jews.

They mock him, insult him, spit on him, pierce his side with a sword.

Hours of agony pass. Jesus cries out - Father, forgive them. Jesus, in his final moments, prays mercy over his enemies that they may come to know and believe in him.

With one final cry Jesus proclaims - it is finished.

Jesus hangs his head. He gives up the ghost. The veil of the temple is torn, top to bottom, in two.

Joseph takes Jesus’ body. He wraps him in clean linens. He places him in a tomb, a borrowed tomb, belonging to Joseph. He seals the tomb with a stone.

With that, the plan for salvation is complete.

Sin, paid for. Debt, paid for. A promise of hope, mercy, forgiveness, eternal life. Free, if we’ll just trust him. Believe in him.

It’s Friday. But Sunday is coming.

It has been a little while since I’ve posted, and this is the last post I wanted to make but I think it’s important because no matter the situation, I think there is power in the reaction.
We lost the sale of our Colorado house yesterday.
My immediate reaction was anger, a lot of it.
Then once that passed I was overwhelmed with grief. My brain literally processed it like I’d lost a family member. I don’t think it’s some secret that we have been relying on the sale of the house for a number of different reasons.
We are currently 7 states away.
It has been non stop blizzards and inclement weather since we left.
We are now making two house payments until an unknown time.
But as I stood there on the verge of a breakdown I had this little internal voice say, it’s okay. It’s gonna be okay. Whether it was my own conscious or God I don’t know.
What I can say is that I have an overwhelming peace with this situation. When God wants doors closed he will close then. When his divine timing is right, he will open them.
We are praying for what’s to come and will hopefully have a game plan soon, if you’re the praying kind, please keep us in your prayers while we maneuver through this ❤️

We are beyond thankful to the Freauff family for allowing us to be part of their home. From delays to last minute changes this beautiful built in is one of our last pieces that will be leaving the shop, they have had amazing patience with us. We will miss this amazing community so much ❤️ We we’re honored to be part of the Wreaths Across America ceremony this morning hosted by the Simla Historical Society at the Simla Cemetery. Each wreath was donated by various community and family members to honor the veterans who are laid to rest there. Chief Richardson, myself, and little Willow were happy that this was one of the last official events we were able to be part of before the PCS. 🇺🇸

It is with a sad heart that I make the announcement that The Butcher’s Wife Design Co. will no longer be accepting orders.

If you’d asked us a year ago we would have told you that Colorado would be our forever home. However, as a Navy family we always knew there was the possibility of change and that time has now come. We have received orders and will be reporting to New London Sub Base in Groton, CT as of December 2022. That being said, our primary focus right now is finishing our confirmed orders and getting the house and acreage sold before we leave. Because of this we will not be taking any additional orders.

For those who have confirmed orders we will be completing those to the best of our abilities but please have patience with us as we navigate through a lot of moving parts and as Travis is between orders be is having to supplement our income by going back to butchering now that wild game season has started.

We are beyond blessed to have served over 1,000 local clients over the last few years. During months where money was tight you helped pay our bills and put food on the table. I never expected our little wood shop to grow quite like it did but we are beyond thankful to each and every order we have been able to complete for you.
