🇺🇸 A LITTLE HISTORY. A LITTLE HUMOR. A WHOLE LOT OF AMERICANA! 🇺🇸

COMING SOON TO MANZI MARKETPLACE!

A fascinating pair of original 1942 World War II propaganda postcards, illustrated by American cartoonist Berdanier, offering a humorous look at a very serious chapter in American history.

📬 “WATCH YOUR STEP”

📬 “KEEP YOUR MOUTHS SHUT”

During World War II, humor and satire were powerful tools used to encourage patriotism, promote national security, and remind Americans that careless words and actions could have serious consequences.

More than 80 years later, these colorful wartime collectibles remain wonderful examples of American history, popular culture, and the art of propaganda.

🇺🇸 TWO POSTCARDS. ONE REMARKABLE PERIOD IN AMERICAN HISTORY.

Saturday morning cartoons, anyone? 📺🥣

Some days we open a portfolio and just grin. Today was one of them! 🚀

Manzi Marketplace has brought in four original hand-painted Jonny Quest illustrations by Bill Garland, created under the creative direction of Ernie Cefalu, founder of the legendary design studio Pacific Eye & Ear. That’s the studio behind album covers for Alice Cooper, the Bee Gees and Cheech & Chong, and Cefalu is credited as one of the designers of the Rolling Stones’ “Lips and Tongue” logo. 👅🎸

Each one is an original, airbrushed and hand-painted, and signed “Garland / Cefalu.” Jonny, Hadji, Race, Dr. Quest and Bandit, all in classic Hanna-Barbera adventure style.

We also have many other original pieces from the Pacific Eye & Ear archive. Collectors and Jonny Quest fans, message us to learn more or schedule a private viewing. 🎨

🕺 Coming in the Nov/Dec Manzi Journal: original production artwork from a 1975 album cover by three brothers with sky-high harmonies, who were just about to hit the dance floor. Any guesses? 🪩

BACK TO THE ’80s! 📼☎️🎨

Sometimes we’re walking through a home and suddenly realize we’ve stepped into a time capsule.

A $1.29 watercolor set, a rotary telephone, a Boston fur coat, old hotel playing cards…things that were once completely ordinary and now instantly bring you back.

That’s one of our favorite parts of what we do at Manzi Marketplace. Not everything has to be worth a fortune to be worth saving. Sometimes the value is simply in the memory.

What’s one thing from the ’80s you wish you still had?

🐭 MANZI MARKETPLACE — DAVE DOESN’T NEED TO KNOW SPECIAL
Those who know David J. Manzi know there’s one category he wants absolutely nothing to do with: rodents.

Big tough Marine… but he even refuses to put the Mickey Mouse dolls out in the Marketplace. 😂

So naturally, while he’s safely out on the road evaluating, appraising and checking on restoration projects, we decided this was the perfect time to introduce our newest find.

This unusual vintage Asian decorative carving features seven mischievous little rats climbing across an intricately detailed woven bundle, with another peeking out from underneath.

Our mission is simple: find these guys a new home before Dave gets back.

Regular Marketplace Price: $350
🤫 DAVE DOESN’T NEED TO KNOW SPECIAL: $275 THIS WEEK

Please help us make them disappear before the boss notices. What happens at Green Street stays at Green Street. 😂🐭

$200 → $3,975+… AND WE’RE STILL DIGGING. 👀

Four old wooden barrels. One bushel basket. One sea chest.
$200 for everything — contents completely unseen.

We took the gamble.

So far, we’ve uncovered:

• 60-piece antique English blue-and-white dinner service

• Japanese hand-decorated porcelain service for 16

• 28 Crawford Cooking-Ranges advertising plates — Walker & Pratt, Boston

• 18 Japanese blue-and-white phoenix & floral plates

• Homer Laughlin F***y Farmer advertising plate

• Additional Japanese and American ceramics still being sorted

• Deteriorated 1830s newspapers used as packing material

Based on preliminary Manzi Marketplace asking prices, what
we’ve identified so far has reached approximately $3,975+.

From a $200 contents-unseen purchase.

And we’re nowhere near finished.

What’s hiding in your attic, basement or garage? 👀

That old trunk nobody has opened. Boxes passed down through the family. China, artwork, collectibles or something that’s been sitting there so long nobody remembers what’s inside.

Before you toss it, donate it or give it away — find out what you have.

Sometimes you buy inventory.

Other times you buy the mystery.

Stay tuned — we’re still digging.

🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 • 25 YEARS LATER 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years have passed, but WE CANNOT—AND MUST NOT—FORGET.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives taken from us in New York City, at the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93 in Shanksville—and the families whose lives were forever changed.

We honor the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, service members, and everyday Americans whose courage and selflessness showed the very best of our nation on one of its darkest days.

We also remember how Americans came together afterward—as ONE NATION.

May God bless those we lost, their families, our first responders, and our military.

MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. 🇺🇸

WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
