Finished another speaker set, these are Bluetooth and wireless stereo. Only cords needed are two USB cables for power. Each speaker box has its own Bluetooth amplifier, and they are wirelessly connected together for a left and right speaker.

My goal was to make the speaker cabinet look like an old TV...with eyes. My other goal was to tune the box down to 60Hz. The box is tuned appropriately, hopefully my box design came into fruition.

The cabinet is made from plywood with book matched cherry veneer. The front baffle and trim pieces are made from Tzalam. All hardwood came from World Timber Corp.

I am working on a couple of speaker projects and have one complete. This is a set of bookshelf speakers with built in Bluetooth amps. Both speakers work in a stereo set and are wireless, other than a power cord. With this project I had the chance to use speaker design programs to create the cabinet size. I used a speaker analyzer yesterday and I met my desired goals.

Cabinets are made from 3/4 MDF and veneered with Sapele. The front of the speakers are made from hardwood. Since I had some Ambrosia Maple left, I decided to use that. This is the last of the maple that I got from World Timber Corp

Been a busy last couple of months. My sister came in for a visit and we made a lamp together. We had a great time, and she did an awesome job. I had enough wood cut to make two and I finished the other one recently. The lamp is made from Tzalam and Red Gum Veneer.

And my son came in for a visit, and he wanted to make a small bookshelf. Had to make it fit in a suitcase, two distinct shelf heights, be easy to reassemble, and fit in a small Japanese apartment. We made the bookshelf from Sapele and Ambrosia Maple.

The wood from the above two projects came from World Timber Corp.

The other pics and some of my projects and projects from friends at church.

Still working in between helping others and family visits. I ordered a "small" handful of items to make bookshelf speakers. My goal is to make some of these portable, Bluetooth, and with built in amplifiers. Got one set done and working on a couple more. This first one here I assembled and finished the box with bookmatched rift sawn European veneer. And they sound awesome!

Been in the shop working on cabinets and small projects. And I have been helping a good friend from church build a project for him. Our family dog also passed away recently, and Maki asked me to make an urn for her. She was an Oki mix breed that we got from a shelter while stationed in Okinawa. We had her for 15 and a half year wonderful years.

Learned some techniques along the way that I will be able to use for other projects. I usually learn after I make stuff. Wood used for this project was Padauk, Maple, and Peruvian Walnut. The wood on top is the same with a few more species. All wood came from World Timber Corp.

Started this project in school and was 95% done before graduation. Finished the last little bit at home. Definitely learned a lot of great information while making the stereo and speakers. The guts for the stereo and speakers I purchased from several places and wired, made wires, and soldered everything myself. Instead of using my 20-year-old cheap 100 Yen soldering tool, I actually purchased a real one.

The big speaker boxes are made from MDF and wrapped in Peruvian Walnut. The smaller speaker boxes are made from Maple plywood and wrapped in Tzalam (Caribbean Walnut). The stereo was made from Peruvian Walnut and Cherry veneer over aluminum. All of the exotic wood I purchased locally from world World Timber Corp.

All done with school (tomorrow) and had a great time here. For our second project, we had to make something with veneer. I chose to create a shoe box with doors. I was actually supposed to make one last year for our home but never finished it. Two birds on stone!

The shoe box is veneered with quilted bubinga and maple; and the darker wood trim is Peruvian walnut. For the top, I chose to do oystering made from various wood species.

Finally done with the stool!!!

I have been blessed to have the opportunity to attend a woodworking school. I started a couple months ago at the Charleston Woodworking School in SC. It is an awesome school with amazing and talented and patient teachers. First month was learning to sharpen tools and create numerous types of joints by hand.

For the next upcoming weeks we are working on three legged stools. It is great to be around others who love woodworking and share thoughts and ideas. Here is my stool so far and I will post some pics once finished.

Forgot to post this one up, but here is a countertop I made. This was built with Red Zebrawood, Peruvian Walnut, and Jatoba. This is the first countertop that I built, so I made this one for us. I let my wife choose how she wanted it made, and she did great.

Have not posted anything in a long time. Still doing woodworking, but not as much as I wanted to the last year. I retired from the Marine Corps in July (2023) and we move to a new house a few months later. I planned all along to build a garage in the back to continue woodworking, so I did not put too much effort into setting up shop right away. I had a good friend from church (Jack Sides) build the garage and it came out better than I imagined. The building is done, and I have been putting my tools inside. I still have a lot to do, but it is done enough to create stuff.

I have not made too many things this year, but I will post some pics of what I have done later on. Thank you to everyone who has likes and shared my page, I really appreciate that.

Finished making a dining table for ourselves to use and enjoy. It is made from Sapele and Peruvian Walnut. The top is all edge grain, made from 60 pieces total (48 Sapele and 12 Peruvian Walnut). This is my first table I built and plan on making more. It measures at 74" X 45" and I will be making a couple of extensions (Leafs) too. This is 34.5" tall and will need some custom chairs later on. I wanted something in between the normal table height and a bar top height.
