Beautiful grain patterns captivate, but I'm also drawn to shapes and features that reveal themselves as the shavings turn away. Knots from outgrowth, splits from an unrelenting prairie sun, the site of a woodpecker's quest... These are pieces that also bring me joy. They have stories to tell, it's fun to listen.
