Laughter that carried across the room.
Conversations that lingered a little longer than expected.
The kind of energy you don’t have to force—you just walk into it.

And by the end?
Nobody was ready to leave.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

I’ll let you all in on a secret.
The Wick and Wine Experience didn’t start as a business idea.
It started as a survival tool.

There was a time when I needed something to quiet the noise.
To slow my mind down.
To feel like myself again.

Candles became that for me.

Not just lighting one…
But the process.
The stillness.
The intention behind creating something with my hands.

That moment of pause turned into something bigger.

Because I realized… I’m not the only one carrying things. Sometimes you really think you’re the only one.

Burnout.
Grief.
Work stress.
Life transitions.
Feeling disconnected, even in a room full of people.

So I built what I wish I had.

A space where you can exhale.
Where conversation flows naturally.
Where you don’t have to perform.
Where you can just be.

Yes, we make candles.
But it’s never just about the candle.

It’s about connection.
It’s about presence.
It’s about creating space for people to come back to themselves—and each other.

This month, and every month, that’s what this is about.

More than candles. It’s a conversation.

Today marks one year since our very first candle class.

After getting my LLC in January 2023 🥴, it still took time before I felt ready to move forward. I was navigating health challenges, a toxic workplace, and later—by February 2024—a mass layoff.

In the middle of that uncertainty, I found community and courage. That first class became the best day of 2024 for me.

This business is what happened when I finally said yes to myself. With every experience, my hope is to create safe space, lift others, and remind people they’re not alone.

One year in—and it’s been one of my greatest joys.
