This is the Figured Maple Transparent Serving Board. It's 14" long and 11" wide, but it's borders are transparent in the right light... To be honest, it has also stolen my heart.

Materials:
• figured maple from Old Souls Custom Creations
• finished with natural Odie's
• and filled with a fine blend of Food-safe, Super Clear Liquid Glass Epoxy Resin and Charcoal Grey Mica Powder.

While I do not have it listed on my website (yet), I have enough materials to make 10 more of these beauties right now.

So what do you think? Do you have a transparent serving board in mind?

For more information about my work, head to https://ironandpinewoodworking.com because I would love to create one of these little beauties for you. But if social media is more your game, hit that message button and let's talk.

A year ago, my sister-in-law called me and told me about a man from Leicester, NC who was moving and needed to get rid of some old wood that had been sitting in his barn for ages. (Thanks, Mindy!) So after a grueling day of dusty work transporting a truckload of aged pine - and after a few more weeks of bug treatment and kiln drying - when I finally got around to experimenting with this wood, I COULD NOT BELIEVE so much beauty existed behind the mask of age. But I shouldn’t have been surprised. This old barn wood earned its right to beauty. It fought to live and be restored despite all the challenges of life that sought to destroy it, and all I really needed to do was draw out its legacy.

This is the new Industrial Farmhouse Table and it is now available in the shop. It's 80" long, 29.5" wide, and 1.5" thick, and oh man... Is it beautiful.

If you have any questions about this piece, or if you have a different tabletop in mind, head to ironandpinewoodworking.com, and let's talk! Keep in mind that all of my tabletops can be custom ordered. You choose the size. You choose the resin color. And I'll do the rest.

MATERIALS:
• 1.5" Thick Kiln-dried 80-year-old pine.
• Food-safe, charcoal gray epoxy resin
• Water/Alcohol resistant oil-based finish.
• Industrial steel legs.
• Grade 8 hardened hardware and threaded inserts for easy disassembly.

It's happening, y'all! This month we sold out of cutting boards and brought our first farmhouse table to its new home in Black Mountain. I'm beyond grateful, but I'm going to keep pumping these tables out.

This one is my new favorite. Crafted with extinct American Chestnut, black and clear epoxy resin, and a vintage iron base, this casted desk is probably one of the most unique pieces I've ever made. Check out https://ironandpinewoodworking.com for more pictures and details. 🤗

The marketing materials have arrived! Jess and I are hitting the town today to pin these bad boys up in Asheville. Time to channel my inner door-to-door encyclopedia salesman.

Shop Tour Alert! Introducing The Huckleberry, named after the late pup who was with me every step of the way while I built it. Also, it doesn't hurt that the river in the table looks an awful lot like the mighty Mississippi!

Hey y'all! Thank you so much for the follows and likes over the last couple of days. It feels good to be sharing what's been in my shop for months, so in honor of me getting my act together and setting up a website and social media, The Huckleberry will be 25% for the next month.

Challenge the idea of “throw-away” Wood

Hey, y’all!

Welcome to RAW Mountain Creations, a place where I come to explore the strength and beauty of furniture as art.

My name is Nathan Standridge, and I have been building things with whatever materials I could find since I was old enough to hold a handsaw, but recently I decided to take that life-long passion and turn it into a living, breathing woodworking shop in the mountains of Barnardsville, North Carolina.

At RAW Mountain Creations, I strive to create tabletops that will last forever, while questioning the idea of "throw-away" wood. When I look for a new slab or find a batch of barn wood that had been lost to history, I don’t look for perfection. I look for grain and knots and voids that can be filled, crafting imperfect pieces that are just as unique as the living wood that created them
